On Friday, January 26, FC Dynamo Kyiv played their first friendly at the training camp in Turkey. The White-Blues faced reigning champions of Kosovo FC Ballkani.
For four days before that Olexandr Shovkovskyi were having two sessions per day. Today Dynamo used different lineups in each half. Ballkani managed to score halfway through the first and the second half.
Early in the game the teams battled for possession, so there was a lot of scrimmage, but not too many scoring chances. Dynamo tried to attack through the wings, but their crosses were mostly blocked. Ballkani, who played their previous official game on January 20 and thus were in better shape, attempted from distance mostly.
The trouble for the Ukrainian side happened due to the inconsistency of our players’ own actions near their penalty area: Danfa, who was in the left side, received a pass, moved a little and hit the far corner – 0:1. Dynamo responded with their first shot on goal, but goalkeeper was there.
Early in the second half Ballkani maintained possession while Kyivans had promising counterattacks. Kosovo side created a few opportunities after set pieces. There was a shot after cross from a free kick and then from a corner.
The game wasn’t really eventful, but halfway through the second half referee awarded penalty for Ballkani as Dubinchak handed the ball. Berisha converted from the spot.
Matkevych tried to pull one back, but keeper coped with his strike. Buialskyi had probably the best chance. He appeared one-on-one with goalkeeper, but didn’t succeed. Then Ballkani almost scored the third one after cross from the right side.
Shortly before the time Buialskyi was one-on-one with the keeper again after pass from Shaparenko, but failed again.
Dynamo will play their next friendly on January 29 – against the Polish side Legia.
