The majority of our first team players were at Ukraine camp. This time Andriy Shevchenko called up nine Kyivans – Denys BOIKO, Mykyta BURDA, Artem SHABANOV, Vitaliy MYKOLENKO, Serhiy SYDORCHUK, Viktor TSYHANKOV, Vitaliy BIUALSKYI, Mykola SHAPARENKO and Volodymyr SHEPELEV. Still Shepelev eventually stayed in Kyiv.
Vitaliy Mykolenko made two first appearances for the national team. Mykyta Burda performed against Luxembourg and Vitaliy Buialskyi took the field in the second half twice. Viktor Tsyhankov made a substitute appearance in the first match and in the second one he scored his debut goal for Ukraine.
