Maksim Shatskih captained Uzbekistan to a 7-3 victory over Singapore in a Round 3 Asian preliminary for the 2010 World Cup. The skipper netted the seventh goal for the team.
With three qualifiers played, Uzbeks now top group 4 with a maximum nine points, three points ahead of the main contender Saudi Arabia.
Rauf Inileev’s men next face Singapore (home, June 7), Lebanon (home, June 14) and Saudi Arabia (away, June 22).
