Dynamo Kyiv came back from 1-0 down to salvage a draw against bottom-side Metalurh Zaporizhya at Slavutych Arena on Sunday.
With the UEFA Europa League quarter final decider against SC Braga coming up, Yury Semin decided to leave some of his key players on the bench. Instead, he fielded a mixed squad featuring regulars and those, who hadn't been playing much lately.
As was expected, Dynamo dominated possession, while Metalurh players looked dangerous on the counter-attacks. The White-Blues had a fine chance to open the scoring on 31 minute when Oleksandr Aliyev broke into the box, but sent his shot wide of the far post. A few minutes later, Artem Kravets received a pass from Badr El Kaddouri but was unlucky to shoot the ball over the bar from close range.
With the half-time break approaching the hosts opened the scoring through Andriy Tsurikov, but Dynamo restored parity right after the interval, when Andriy Shevchenko left goalkeeper Dmytro Bezotosnyy helpless with a lofted shot from ten meters. Yury Semin threw on Yarmolenko, Milevskyy and Husyev, and that considerably livened up Dynamo actions. But the scoreline remained 1-1.
