Prior to the UEFA Cup match against Shakhtar, Dynamo head coach Yuriy Semin attended the pre-match press conference and answered journalists’ questions.

- There is probably no need to say how important tomorrow’s UEFA Cup semi-final match is. Both teams deserve to reach the final and win the trophy. I have to admit that we had to deal with lots of injuries this season. A number of first-choice players were forced to miss important matches: Yussuf, Mykhalyk, Diakhate, Husyev, Correa, Milevskyy, Kravets. Nonetheless, we have always found a good solution to this problem. We came here to fight and I believe in my team. All players work hard in training and this should be the key to our success. If we produce good display tomorrow, we’ll win. If not – we’ll lose. Football is a very simple game.
I had to rotate the squad in the league match against Zorya as my players looked rather tired against Shakhtar in Kiev. So, tomorrow's match will show whether we made the right decision.
- Aren’t you concerned that Ľuboš Micheľ, who works for Shakhtar, knows the referees of the match very well?
- We are concerned about everything, including this fact.
- Dynamo will probably need to score tomorrow. What kind of tactics will you choose to produce a goal?
- We can use different tactics and playing styles. It makes no difference how many forwards enter the pitch – three, four, five. We can play with a single striker and it will be more comfortable for us to attack from deep.
