FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi answered media questions after the away game against FC LNZ Cherkasy (2:1):
- Congrats to Dynamo fans on this win. We knew perfectly well how difficult this game would be and that’s how it was. All Roman Hryhorchuk’s teams play very densely and with great motivation. Though actually there was only one team on the field in the first half. Possession, domination, pressing – that’s what we were doing. We opened the score and had more opportunities. Then we conceded in the second half and the endgame was intense.
- Lately Dynamo often have a great first half and a poor second half. What’s that about?
- The game was totally different until we conceded, but after that we saw another scenario.
- Why was Nazar Voloshyn absent today?
- Unfortunately, he had some problems with the muscles of the back of the thigh. Since this is one of the major muscles, which is of great importance for a player, in order to avoid complications in the future, we decided not to involve Nazar in the game at all. The examination didn’t show any significant problems, only some swelling.
- What did you feel after the decider late in the game?
- The team wanted, aspired, desired to win. Perhaps emotions even slightly prevented us from rationally doing what we planned and carried out in the first half. But, as I’ve said, we understood perfectly well that LNZ, like all of Hryhorchuk’s teams, are totally motivated and always play against Dynamo with triple motivation. I hope they win every game remaining with such a football.
- Dynamo didn’t demonstrate league-winning game against Vorskla and LNZ. Do you things will be even tougher against, say, Polissia or Kryvbas?
- That’s your opinion. We get ready for each particular game and analyze our opponents.
- Do you consider any new signings to enforce the team?
- We always do and we have certain options. But there’s different circumstances. Some players want crazy money, or at the last minute, mom, dad, uncle, aunt, wife or someone else doesn’t want to go to Ukraine. You don’t know everything.
