Dynamo Kyiv had their four-game Premier League winning streak come to an end, as they went down 2-0 to leaders Shakhtar Donetsk in a Matchday 12 clash on Sunday.
The hosts took the lead midway through the second period. Brazilian forward Luiz Adriano was on hand to collect a ricochet following Rakytskyy’s kick towards the area and sent it to the net with a deft touch from close range. The White-Blues then had defender Badr El Kaddouri dismissed for the second yellow card and had to play the final stages of the match with 10 men.
The Pitmen rounded the game off with a second goal two minutes into added time when second-half substitute Eduardo crossed for Alex Teixeira to fire past Dynamo goalkeeper Denys Boyko.
The match was a top-of-the-table clash and Dynamo's defeat means they now sit five points behind leaders Shakhtar Donetsk. Nonetheless, it's too early to draw any conclusions as there is enough time to make things better.
