Dynamo Kyiv suffered their second domestic defeat of the season on Sunday, going down 1-0 at FC Shakhtar thanks to a strike from Shakhtar midfielder Willian midway through the first half. A solitary goal from Brazilian footballer proved enough to give the host team a hard-earned win against the capital club in Donetsk.
Lacking Taras Mykhalyk, Miloš Ninković and Andriy Nesmachnyy through injury, the visitors struggled to break down a well-organised Shakhtar defence. Bangoura, Milevskyy, Aliyev all had presentable opportunities to net the ball but missed the target.
However, Dynamo Kyiv remain top of the Premier League while Shakhtar’s win moved them up two places in the table into the fifth.
