His first game for the Yellow-Blues was against Belarus (2:0). It took place on October 9 2014. The newcomer made a substitute appearance in the second half and scored due to assist by Andriy Yarmolenko.
Our midfielder (height – 189 cm, weight – 80 kg) was among first eleven when Ukraine faced Macedonia in the following fixture. His goal became the decider and Sydorchuk became the first debutant to score in two games in a row.
Serhiy recalls that period in a following way: “I could only dream of such debut. Before those games against Belarus and Macedonia we defeated Steaua and Shakhtar which gave me confidence. When I took the field in Borisov the score was 0:0. I knew what to do”.
He made 7 appearances in qualifiers and play-offs (492 minutes) and scored twice. According to his teammates Sydorchuk is the most modest player of the team.
That’s what fans think of Serhiy.
I like Sydorchuk. He must always be in the starting lineup. Sometimes he reminds me Dynamo famous midfielders.
The game against Belarus was the best for him. He works really intensively.
We’re looking forward to your goals like those you scored against Chornomorets and Hoverla.
At first he looked good, but then relaxed. One can’t relax in football.
If something happens to Rotan, Rybalka or Stepanenko, Sydorchuk can substitute them.
Sydorchuk and Rybalka must be in starting lineup.
I think Sydorchuk is very calm, confident and positive. I want him to keep making headway.
I remember his first game and goal for the national team. I hope he’ll score at the Euro-2016!
