Malmö FF are more than hundred years old. Together with IFK Göteborg and AIK Fotboll they form the “Great thee” of Swedish football. Malmö have already won the domestic league 20 times which is the best result in the country. Last time they became champions in 2017. Besides, Malmö have won the national cup 14 times.
Malmö major achievement on European arena is 1978/79 European Champions’ Cup final. That season Swedish side outplayed Dynamo in the second round of the competition (0:0, 0:2).
In the final Malmö faced Nottingham Forest FC and lost by one goal to nil.
Malmö iconic trainee is famous Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He featured for Malmö is 1999-2001 and scored 16 goals after which moved to AFC Ajax.
At the moment, Malmö are third in domestic league table after 23 matchdays.
Head coach – Uwe Rösler – German specialist, who played for Manchester City FC in 1990s (64 goals in 176 matches). He started his coaching career in Norwegian side Lillestrom SK. In 2011-2018 he worked for different English clubs after which joined Malmö. Last season he took the team to the Europa League round of 32, where they lost against Chelsea FC.
