- 51,000 spectators have attended this match which means that we demonstrate quite a good play. The atmosphere at the stadium was great. It’s noticeable that not all our players are 100% ready for the new season, but it’s absolutely normal as some of them started the training camp later than the rest of the team.
I can also mention that Brown Ideye has returned to Kyiv. It’s great that we have competing within the team due to our president who has signed players we wanted to see in Dynamo.

- I don’t estimate players, I estimate the whole team. Next question, please.
- Has the Joint tournament helped you to prepare the team for the new season?
- Actually it was the first pre-season training camp of such kind for me.
I think it’s great to play friendlies against Spartak and Zenit with the support of 51,000 spectators.
- Ihor Surkis has stated that the constant change of coaches was his mistake and that you are his last hope. Does it inspire you?
- President’s support is vital for a head coach. At the moment we have mutual understanding with Ihor Surkis. It’s very comfortable to work with him.
- Did Dynamo players have a special attitude to the game against Spartak?
- The majority of our players don’t know anything about the history of this opposition. I communicate with Spartak coaches easily. Things change.
It was a friendly match. In two weeks we are to play the first game in Ukrainian Premier League. I must define the squad. Some performers will play for Dynamo-2, some will go on a loan move.
I think it comes before everything that spectators enjoyed the game. Sometimes I even made my players slow down as we don’t need injuries.
Comparing to the first game against Spartak our play was a bit different. We tried to use counterattacks.
- You make opponents dance to your tune. Do you like such tactics?
- I do. Our team has started playing faster.
- Are you satisfied with the way supporting halfbacks start attacks of the team?
- The coach can’t be 100% satisfied with his team’s play. I wish supporting halfbacks started attacks faster. The same I can say about defenders.
- Is Ideye ready for the new season?
- He’s been jogging for a couple of days only. How can he be ready?
- How long will it take him to regain his conditions?
- Maybe a month, maybe 2 weeks. Belhanda is also regaining physical conditions.
I have already mentioned that some players started training later than other. Dudu plays well after the refreshment.
I can’t say for sure how soon Ideye will take the field. Besides we have competing in our team.
