“We’ll try to play without forwards like Barcelona does. May be our players are not as skillful as Catalans but we are to solve this problem”.
As for strikers Artem Kravets and Marco Ruben Blokhin stated the following:
“Frankly speaking I don’t think that Kravets is able to be among first eleven at the moment. Ruben missed a lot so he’s also unlikely to enforce the main squad”.
It’s much easier for Blokhin to explain his ideas to Ukrainians…
“Let’s be honest. Foreigners usually come to Ukraine to earn money. They don’t know much about Dynamo. It’s easier to make Ukrainians understand the philosophy of Dynamo Kyiv”.
One of the most common problems for foreigners is Russian language:
“Mehmedi and Veloso speak Russian a bit already. Ruben has difficulties. But I’m sure he’ll overcome them. The player must understand the language of the country he lives in”.
Oleh Blokhin makes players wear shin pads during every training session. Otherwise they must pay $500 fine.
“After the introduction of this rule we stopped facing some injuries”.
Mid-season training camps were enough to maintain some understanding between players and head coach.
“I think the team is 40 per cent ready. We try to change players’ mentality as they used to play in a different way under other coaches”.
Blokhin’s opinion as for so called “Dynamo style” is as follows:
“I don’t understand what “Dynamo football” or “Spartak football” means. But I’m convinced that one must give his best to uphold the prestige of the club on the pitch. We could discuss “Dynamo style” when only Ukrainians played for this team. Now we have a lot of foreigners so there is no special “Dynamo football”.
