FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi answered media questions after the Ukrainian Cup final against FC Shakhtar Donetsk.
- First of all, it needs to be said that the fans should enjoy the final. And although it was uncompromising, the players still restrained themselves so as not to injure each other. Yes, emotions were on the football field, and those should be when there is a match for the Cup.
It’s certainly bitter to lose on penalties. First of all, it should be said that in football, individual skill is of great importance. But the mistakes made by the players are also of great importance. We once again conceded a goal after our own mistake, gave the opponent opportunity for a counterattack and didn’t play we were supposed to when they scored against. As always, we can say that we will draw conclusions, but this mistake deprived us of the Cup.
- What do you think of the refereeing today?
- I think the best referee is the one who’s invisible on the field. There’re relevant bodies that will estimate the refereeing.
- This was the first Cup final in Zhytomyr. What do you think of arrangements, of the field?
- I didn’t really care where we played. The field was fine, the atmosphere was great.
- You made quite substitution be replacing Shaparenko with Brazhko…
- How is that uncommon? I needed to impact the game, so it was my decision. I don’t think it was uncommon.
