Karpaty – Dynamo – 1:0. Match report

Ten-man Dynamo Kyiv suffered a frustrating evening in Lviv as they went down 1-0 at FC Karpaty Lviv.

Dynamo went into the game weakened by injuries to forward Andriy Shevchenko, midfielder Miloš Ninković and defenders Yevhen Khacheridi and Badr El Kaddouri. Moreover, the capital side were forced to play most of the game one man down after substitute Roman Zozulya was dismissed for a second booking on 39 minutes.

Despite all Dynamo's efforts, Brazilian forward William Batista scored the only goal of the game midway through the second period to condemn Valeriy Gazzaev’s men to a second defeat of the season.

This disappointing result shattered Dynamo’s hopes of retaining the domestic title and presented FC Shakhtar Donetsk with an opportunity to become the outright leaders in the Ukrainian Premier League table.
