Twice a year – before Chornobyl disaster anniversary and before the New Year – the White-Blues give children the feeling of feast. Atmosphere at the event was warm as usually. It was all arranged for Rodyna and Kvity Polynu charitable organizations fosterlings. Our club has been supporting them for twenty-one years already.
Dynamo president Ihor Surkis, team captain Olexandr Shovkovskyi, FC Dynamo Kyiv member of the board Matviy Zamikhovskyi, vice-president Olexiy Semenenko… more than hundred of little guests greeted people they love with applause. After moment of silence Ihor Surkis took the floor:
- 29 years ago terrible tragedy happened. We still feel its consequences. As long as we are in this club we’ll be together with you. Olexandr Shovkovskyi has come to this meeting after difficult game against FC Shakhtar Donetsk, which means that we need you as people who support Dynamo sincerely. Matviy Zamikhovskyi always tells me about your requests and we’ll keep helping you.
When Olexandr Shovkovskyi took the microphone the audience applauded very loudly. “I remember the year 1986. I was a kid playing outside with friends. Suddenly a man came up to our house and told us to close windows and doors as something terrible happened. Today we realize what the tragedy made our people go through. I try to attend such events and make you smile. Serhiy Rebrov hasn’t managed to come as the team has training session. He’s let me to be here and send our players’ and coaching staff best to you. We’ll try to gladden you with our play. It’s great we have you and you have us”.
Rodyna charitable organization has been helping Chornobyl disaster victims for more than twenty years already. The head of the fund Roza Lastovenko knows everything about their needs.
- Our friendship is an echo of Chornobyl disaster. We all had a choice – to try to give these children normal live or to stay aside. Fortunately there are people that help us to cope with important problems. I’m thankful to Dynamo for care and great play. I want to wish you victories and good health.
The head of Kvity Polynu charitable organization Oleh Lypkan stated: “I want to pay homage to people whose feat let us live. I’m thankful to Ihor Surkis, Matviy Zamikhovskyi and FC Dynamo Kyiv for support and joy. Your care is of great importance. Thank you”.
Eventually children got presents and Dynamo representatives’ autographs.
