Our team approached this game with significant lineup issues. Three players – Bushchan, Boiko and Mykolenko – couldn’t help Kyivans due to positive COVID-19 tests while Shaparenko was suspended. Sydorchuk and de Pena, who played against Ferencvarosi in Budapest, started the match on the bench.
Technically it was away game for the White-Blues, but it took place at the NSC Olimpiyskyi. After careful initial part of the match Dynamo let Dnipro-1 seize the initiative. In the 22nd minute Olexandr Nazarenko hit the upper V with a spectacular strike. Dynamo debutant goalkeeper Ruslan Neshcheret didn’t save the team – 0:1.
This goal helped Kyivans focus. They spent the rest of the first half attacking. At first Andriyevskyi attempted from the box line, but the ball went wide. Then Supriaha missed the target after pass by Tsyhankov.
In the following attack Tsyhankov put a cross into the box and Adamiuk sent the ball into his own net with a header – 1:1!
A couple of minutes before the break Tsyhankov hit the far corner from inside the penalty area and made it 2:1!
Being in front Dynamo looked more confident in the second half, but didn’t create chances for a while.
Late in the game Liedniev performed a spectacular pass, but Supriaha was late to hit the target. After shot by Rodrigues, Lohinov almost scored another own goal.
Eventually Kyivans focused on defense, but Dnipro-1 didn’t bother Neshcheret anymore. So, Dynamo are still the UPL leaders with 20 points!
