UPL. Matchday 24. Vorskla – Dynamo – 1:5. Report

Kyivans went to Poltava as 2020/21 champions of Ukraine as they won golden medals in the previous match against FC Inhulets Petrove. Despite that, Mircea Lucescu didn’t apply significant lineup rotation. Only Serhiy Sydorchuk and Viktor Tsyhankov couldn’t help the team.

The first half of the game was really spectacular as we witnessed four goals. Dynamo opened the score early in the match. Karavayev rushed into the box after pass from Kedziora, put a low cross and Buialskyi hit the target.

This game turned out to be really special for Vitaliy as he scored the first hat trick in his career. Ten minutes after the first goal, Karavayev assisted him again and Buialskyi made it 0:2.

Gerson Rodrigues had a chance to score with a header, but missed after pass from Mykola Shaparenko. Dynamo controlled the situation on the field, but Vorskla managed to pull one back. Referee awarded penalty for home side for the foul by Zabarnyi and Kulach made it 1:2.

Still Dynamo kept attacking and increased their lead again. Riznyk cleared the ball after low cross by Mykolenko, but Buialskyi was the first to obtain it and send into the net – 1:3.

After the first half both coaches made several substitutions, which made the match calmer.

Anyway, the score became 1:4 when Karavayev got the third assist of the match to his name – passed to Rodrigues, who hit the far bottom corner.

Kyivans didn’t stop even after that and kept creating chances. Liedniev attempted from unpromising angle and keeper parried his strike. In the 84th minute Sidcley scored Dynamo fifth goal of the game after assist by Clayton – 1:5!
