Dynamo Kyiv have cut the gap at the top of the Ukrainian Premier League table to nine points after a 2-0 win at the Valeriy Lobanovskyy stadium against FC Vorskla Poltava on Sunday evening.
Yuriy Semin’s men kicked-off the match just hour after Shakhtar Donetsk had lost 1-0 to Karpaty Lviv. It meant that a win would move them closer to the top-placed Pitmen and give them a six-point lead over nearest pursuers FC Metalist Kharkiv.
The White-Blues struggled early on but the first half remained goalless. However, two second-half goals in as many minutes from Artem Kravets and substitute Andriy Yarmolenko settled the scoreline. The first goal came on 58 minutes when Artem collected a long pass on the corner of the box, got past Vorskla defenders and sent the ball past keeper. Andriy then doubled Dynamo's advantage with an almost identical strike.
