Dynamo Kyiv returned to Premier League action this Sunday after a two week pause due to international matches break and faced FC Volyn Lutsk.
The opponents had a number of their regular players out of the starting lineup with Vanče Šikov, Ján Maslo, Oleksiy Babyr and current leader of the goal-scoring race Maicon Oliveira all missing the game through suspension.
Andriy Shevchenko fired the home side in front thirteen minutes into the match after a clever pass from Oleh Husyev.
Dynamo then extended their lead midway through the half when Brown Ideye set up Artem Milevskyy for their team’s second goal of the evening. The Nigerian striker received a long pass from Husyev, raced into the area and slipped a neat pass for on-rushing Artem Milevskyy, who thumped the ball past Vitaliy Nedilko to make the score 2-0. The visitors, however, struck one back just three minutes later, Schumacher heading in Lopes’ pass.
The White-Blues kept Volyn' goalkeeper busy after the break and built a number of promising attacks. Nedilko, however, did his best to keep the scoreline unchanged, saving well from Yarmolenko, Ideye, Milevskyy and Shevchenko.
The victory keeps Dynamo on Shakhtar Donetsk’s tail at the top of the table.
