Artem Milevskyy scored twice and Andriy Yarmolenko once as Dynamo Kyiv defeated Shakhtar Donetsk in their Matchday 14 game in Kyiv.
The tone of the match was set early on, with both sides eager to earn three points. In the fourth minute Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho missed a golden opportunity to put his side ahead from the penalty spot as his shot flew just past the post. The breakthrough came late in the first half, when Shevchenko produced a one-touch pass for Milevskyy to score from close range. The visitors tried to level the matters right after the restart but it was Valeriy Gazzaev's men who scored the second goal of the match. Shevchenko provided another sublime assist for striker partner Milevskyy to make it 2-0 in the 54 minute, letting Artem take is his goal tally for the season to nine. The superb link-up play between these two players really impresses…The final word went to Andriy Yarmolenko, who scored following a swift counter-attack.
Dynamo stay top of the table, with Shakhtar taking third position. Today’s result ensured the White-Blues will travel to Kazan in good spirits for their UEFA Champions League group stage match against FC Rubin (Russia).
