Dynamo Kyiv suffered their first friendly defeat of the mid-season, going down to the Russian side FC Lokomotiv Moscow.
With young players Denys Harmash and Vladyslav Kalitvintsev in the squad, Valeriy Gazzaev’s men made a lively start and looked quite confident from the opening minutes of the game. The White-Blues created presentable chances in the opening minutes, but a 19-minute opener from Lokomotiv midfielder Dmitriy Torbinskiy and a 39-minute penalty kick from Denys Glushakov decided the game.
Two minutes before the hour-mark, Dynamo head coach made several changes in the squad, letting first-choice players Shevchenko, Milevskyy, Eremenko, Ninković and others join the action. Unfortunately, the venerable Dynamo players failed to break down their defensive-minded opponents and change the scoreline.
