Dynamo Kyiv got their 2010/2011 Champions League campaign off to a winning start with a 3-0 victory over Belgian side KAA Gent at the Lobanovskyy Dynamo stadium on Tuesday.
The White-Blues seized the initiative from the start and were the more dangerous side throughout the match. Their first goal came in the 19 minute when Andriy Yarmolenko collected a loose ball in Gent's penalty area and turned it in, with Gent's deep defence out of position. That was the only goal of the first half and the match remained 1-0 until 80th minute when Dynamo captain Andriy Shevchenko extended team's lead to 2-0.
Gent pushed forward trying to reduce the deficit but their hopes were totally dashed two minutes into added time when second-half substitute Roman Zozulya was handed a one-on-one with Belgian shot-stopper and added the final goal with a strong kick.
