Dynamo snatched their second successive 2-1 victory, defeating Karpaty 2-1. The White-Blues have always had a hard time when playing away in Lviv, with this weekend’s game being no exception.
Things got underway for Dynamo in an appalling fashion. Two minutes into the game, unmarked Oshchypko planted home a corner. Dynamo instantly regrouped, assumed control of the ball and equalized in the 17th minute through Shatskikh. Corrêa delivered a corner, the ball was thrown out of the box, but exactly onto the Brazilian, whose second attempt found Shatskikh.
Dynamo went on attacking, yet failing to break the opponent’s stubborn defense. Kravets saw his shot blocked, Corrêa hit a bar and later was outplayed by the keeper in a 1v1 battle.
The second and winning goal for Kyiv arrived late into the first half. After three successive corners, the last attempt was parried by the goalkeeper but only to find Ghioane, who did his job well to fire his team into a lead.
Further into the game, the hosts could equalize as there were chances for Hudobyak, Kobin, Hodvin and Dynamo had to thank Shovkovskyy for a superb last-minute save. Just the same way, the visitors could score a third goal through Corrêa and Shatskikh. The packed hostile stadium in Lviv saw, however, no more goals and Dynamo traveled home with valuable three points.
