Dynamo Kyiv began their 2009/2010 Premier League campaign in convincing fashion, securing an impressive 5-0 victory against FC Chornomorets Odesa. Leading 3-0 after the first half of the match thanks to strikes from Serhiy Kravchenko, Oleh Husyev and Artem Milevskyy's penalty kick, the capital side added two more goals after the interval as Andriy Yarmolenko and Carlos Corrêa were both on target.
With ten players injured - including goalkeeper Stanislav Bogush, midfielder Oleksandr Aliyev and forward Artem Kravets – Valeriy Gazzaev's side showed considerable character and were the dominant side over the 90 minutes, giving the opponents no chance to rectify the situation.
