Dynamo: picking up steam
Both Dynamo and Dnipro played Europa League play-off round games on August 29. It’s difficult to say whether this factor had some influence upon both sides’ preparation for face-to-face match.
Almost all Dynamo first team regulars took the field as Oleh Blokhin’s men faced FC Aktobe within the Europa League.
At the moment it’s important for Kyivans to achieve mutual understanding and the home match against Kazakh team was very useful.
That Europa League game wasn’t very difficult for the White-Blues and the hammering of FC Aktobe must give them extra confidence. Besides the game against FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk won’t be played behind closed doors. The support of fans is very important for Dynamo.
Dnipro: euro cups relaxation
Unlike Oleh Blokhin Dnipro head coach Juande Ramos let several key players of his team have rest as Dnipropetrovsk side faced JK Nõmme Kalju within the Europa League play-off round second leg.
In general that game looked like a training session.
Much more important was the UPL match which took place a week ago. Dnipro defeated FC Shakhtar Donetsk 3:1.
Of course Ramos’ men are in good mood after such win.
Face to face
Dynamo have already faced Dnipro 44 times within the UPL (W-29, D-8, L-7). Goal difference is 80:35 for Kyivans.
In Kyiv the White-Blues defeated Dnipropetrovsk side 22 times. Three games ended in a draw. Dnipro won three games. Goal difference – 44:21 for Dynamo.
Last time Kyivans faced Dnipro at the NSC Olimpiyskyi on April 27 2013. Dynamo won the game 2:0.
