They brought some everyday clothes, food, personal cleansing etc. It was a great surprise for our warriors, who thanked for support and hoped that players would come to visit them too.
Several days later, when Kyiv side got a small break in a tight schedule, players Mykola Moroziuk, Yevhen Khacheridi, Maxym Koval, Viktor Tsyhankov, Volodymyr Shepelev and assistant coach Oleh Luzhnyi came to the hospital to meet our Heroes.
They brought presents and thanked each soldier defending our country. Oleh Luzhnyi thanked them on behalf of our club.
This time Kyiv side representatives brought books dedicated to Dynamo 90th anniversary, Dynamo stuff and footballs signed by the whole team.
The commander of ISR brigade Volodymyr was really happy to get such a present:
“Thanks a lot! After the previous Dynamo visit I talked to my officers and they wanted me to ask for a football for them if I have a chance. I didn’t expect someone would bring it here! Now I must send it to Mariupol so they could play!”
When this cheerful courageous man told about his wound, it was really scary:
“I’m just a guy from a village in Cherkasy region. After army service I graduated from military school and became an officer in 1986. In 2002 I was transferred from active duty to reserves. I went to war as a volunteer in 2014 as I couldn’t just watch what was going on any more. I lived in Uman when first HR arrived – 18-19-year-old boys. I was at those funerals. I just couldn’t stay at home any longer. So, I joined Donbas battalion at first and in 2016 – Armed Forces of Ukraine. Unfortunately I was unlucky to get wounded…”
According to Volodymyr, such visits are vital to keep soldiers optimistic:
“I’m extremely thankful to FC Dynamo Kyiv. I can’t even explain what I feel. I know they have tight schedule and it’s not easy for them to find some free time. Many thanks to Oleh Luzhnyi for bringing guys here!”
In his turn Dynamo current team captain Mykola Moroziuk stated:
“When I see these men my heart bleeds. I’d like to thank them for being so positive. I hope they won’t give up. We’re so thankful for what they’re doing for us and for our country”.
Goalkeeper Maxym Koval was impressed with courage of wounded warriors:
“Of course it hurts when I see wounded people. I hope they’ll get well soon. They’re true heroes and we’ll keep supporting them”.
Volunteer Natalia Yusupova shared her impressions of Dynamo visit:
“Unfortunately this year such visits are quite rare, but this time guys from Dynamo came here unexpectedly. We’re really thankful to FC Dynamo Kyiv president Ihor Surkis for arrangement of this meeting. This was a true feast for our soldiers and now they look happy”.
The head of Dynamo Fan-club Serhiy Mykhailenko also wished our Heroes to get well as soon as possible:
“Last time when we visited soldiers it turned out many of them support Dynamo. This time first team regulars and Oleh Luzhnyi came to meet them. I saw our warriors’ emotions and that was really nice. If doctors allow, we’ll do anything to take them to the stadium to watch a game”.
