A late goal from Ayila Yussuf helped Dynamo avoid a third consecutive draw and earned a 1-0 victory over FC Chornomorets Odesa on Saturday.
Both Dynamo and Chornomorets squandered a host of presentable opportunities to take the lead. It looked like the ball just did not want to go into the net. Nonetheless, tribute should be paid to both teams, as they didn't give up and struggled till the very end.
In the second half Valeriy Gazzaev's men started to put more and more pressure on their opponents, and when it seemed a goalless draw would be the outcome of the match, their persistence paid off. A cross into the penalty area from the left flank by second-half substitute Tiberiu Ghioane found Dynamo half-back Ayila Yussuf, who jumped over Chornomorets midfielder Serhiy Melnyk and headed the ball into the net.
