FC Dynamo Kyiv hosted Chelsea FC within the Champions League group stage matchday 3.
Comparing with the game against FC Shakhtar Donetsk the White-Blues coaching staff made several substitutions in the starting lineup. Vida replaced Antunes while Rybalka, Buialskyi and Derlis Gonzalez substituted Denys Harmash, Miguel and Oleh Husiev. Artem Kravets was the finisher instead of Junior Moraes.
Both sides started the game carefully. Hazard was the first to make Dynamo fans really nervous. He obtained the ball on the left flank, moved to the centre and hit the post.
Dynamo most dangerous player was young Vitaliy Buialskyi. He unleashed two good shots on target.
In the first half both teams applied serious pressure. Dynamo laterals Silva and Vida acted confidently and didn’t let opponents create chances. Still there was an episode when Matic eluded several defenders, but then missed.
Second half started with “cold shower” for our team. Willian took the free kick and hit the bar from 23-meter distance. Later Rybalka blocked Hazard’s shot and saved our team from troubles…
Kyivans created their first chance in the second half only 61 minutes into the match. The White-Blues started their counterattack, Yarmolenko found Gonzalez, Derlis tried to score from unpromising angle, but Begovic parried his shot.
After that both sides decided not to risk as every point can be vital.
So, Dynamo have 5 points and second place in group table at the moment.
