After away victory against FC Karpaty Lviv (1:0) FC Dynamo Kyiv had at least to play in a draw at the NSC Olimpiyskyi in the second leg to go through to the next stage.

Serhiy Rebrov made six substitutions in the White-Blues starting lineup comparing with the game against Aalborg BK (0:3).

Olexandr Shovkovskyi was keeping the goal. Yevhen Khacheridi featured as centre back instead of Danilo Silva. Miguel took the place of Serhiy Rybalka in the midfield, Vitaliy Buialskyi replaced Younes Belhanda, Vladyslav Kalytvyntsev – Jeremain Lens and Lukasz Teodorczyk was the only finisher.

Moreover, Domagoj Vida performed as left back while Mykyta Burda – as right lateral.

Home side completely controlled the first half of the game, but the only scoring chance was created after throw in. Sydorchuk obtained the ball, found Teodorczyk in the box, but Karpaty keeper Mysak cleared the shot of Polish striker.

After the break Oleh Husiev took the field instead of Vladyslav Kalytvyntsev.

61 minutes into the match the referee awarded penalty for the White-Blues for the foul of Mysak against Teodorczyk, but Andriy Yarmolenko missed from the spot....

Eventually one of Dynamo counterattacks resulted in goal netted by Husiev in one-on-one situation!

On October 28 FC Dynamo Kyiv will face FC Karpaty Lviv at the NSC Olimpiyskyi within the Ukrainian Cup round of 16 second leg. This will be the eighth duel between these sides in the national cup.

It’s time to recall the history of previous face-to-face matches.

Uzhhorod doublet

For the first time these teams opposed each other on March 10 1980 in Uzhhorod at Avanhard Stadium within the USSR Cup group stage. 8,000 spectators witnessed close match. The only goal of the game was netted by Olexandr Boiko (father of ex-Dynamo goalkeeper Denys Boiko).

The following time Dynamo defeated Karpaty at the same arena 3:1. In that match Lviv side netted the first goal against the White-Blues in cup fixtures. Shmundiak hit the target 76 minutes into the game. Still at that moment the score was 3:0 for Kyivans.

Decisive matches in Ukrainian Cup

Dynamo faced Karpaty in the Ukrainian Cup for the first time on May 30 1993 and it was the final. The White-Blues won by narrow margin at the NSC Olimpiyskyi – 2:1.

Six years later Kyivans defeated Lviv side in the decisive match at home arena – 3:0.

71,000 supporters came to the stadium that day. Andriy Shevchenko scored brace (watch VIDEO) and one more goal was netted by Valentyn Belkevych.

Dynamo domination

Following cup fixtures between Dynamo and Karpaty were also won by Kyivans.

On September 11 2004 Diogo Rincon scored the decider as the White-Blues were victorious in Lviv.

On March 2006 Green Lions lost at home arena by two goals to nil in the semifinal first leg.

In return match the only goal was scored by Dynamo forward Kleber.

Last face-to-face match

On September 27 2014 the White-Blues defeated Karpaty away within the round of 16 first leg. The only goal of the game was netted by Lukasz Teodorczyk 5 minutes into the match.

So, Dynamo won all seven cup fixtures against Karpaty. Goal difference is 13-2.
