Before joining the White-Blues he featured for FC Metalurh Donetsk.
- Junior, when did you go in for football?
- At first my elder brother did. My mom took me to his training sessions. Several months later coach let me train with older guys. I was four at that moment.
- Have you always played as striker?
- I have.
- In 2013/2014 season you became the Ukrainian Premier League second best striker with 19 goals. Luiz Adriano left you behind only in the last game. Was that bitter?
- I did my job really well, but Luiz netted six goals in three matches and I became second…
- Transfer to the most title club of Ukraine, Dynamo, is a significant change. How long did negotiations last?
- I got the first transfer offer from Dynamo a year ago, but Metalurh rejected it. After I became free agent I joined Kyivans.
- Who helps you to adapt to new team?
- It wasn’t difficult to adapt to Dynamo as atmosphere is great here. Everyone helps me, especially my compatriot and friend Danilo Silva.
- Have you noticed peculiarities of Serhiy Rebrov’s training process?
- He’s very young coach, but has great potential. Last season Dynamo under the charge of Rebrov didn’t suffer a single domestic league defeat.
- What can you say about your Champions League opponents?
- Best players of the form feature in this competition. We must demonstrate our best qualities. Our task is to reach Champions League knock-out stage. I think we are ready for that.
- You’ve played in 2:2 draw against Porto. Are you disappointed with that?
- That was a Champions League debut for many Dynamo players, besides we lacked Yarmolenko. Considering that I think draw isn’t bad outcome.
- What achievement in the Champions League will be satisfactory for you?
- Only victory will make me really happy!
