Dynamo are to play two following euro cups matches behind closed doors. The third match will be a suspended sentence. Our club will also pay 100 thousand euro fine. This verdict can be appealed at UEFA appellate instance.
“We are very upset and we consider such punishment to be too strict, so we’ll definitely file an appeal, – says FC Dynamo Kyiv president Ihor Surkis. – We’ll do our best to reduce the number of matches that must be played behind closed doors”.
“As we’ve already mentioned, we are sure that incident was a provocation, but of course we understand the concern of UEFA that struggles against violence and all forms of discrimination at football matches. We totally support that”.
“Unfortunately we can be deprived of support of our great fans in the Champions League group stage decisive game against Maccabi Tel Aviv FC. In every match our team plays for them first of all. That’s why it’s so bitter that though support of true Dynamo fans is great there are those, who’ve damaged the reputation of our club”, – informs Dynamo president.
“It will be difficult for us to reach ambitious goals if we are set up by those we want to rely on, – adds Ihor Surkis. – Our team will keep fighting for our fans in every match, but fans mustn’t fight! They philosophy of Dynamo support must be different. We all want to feel the unity of the team, club and fans”.
“This situation must be a lesson for all of us! On behalf of our club I promise we’ll do whatever it takes to avoid such incident at Dynamo matches. I want fans we love and respect to help us” – summarizes FC Dynamo Kyiv president.
