FC Dynamo Kyiv faced FC Rukh Lviv away in the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 30 game.
As far as the White-Blues didn’t have any tournament motivation in this match, upon the agreement with Ukraine national team head coach Serhii Rebrov, Dynamo internationals were allowed to have rest before the Euro-2024 finals and didn’t participate in this game. Meanwhile Rukh were fighting for euro cups spot, so they were very motivated.
Andriyevskyi and Karavayev attempted from distance early in the game, but missed. Still the first decent opportunity was created by the home side. Rukh dispossessed Kyivans in their half, Talles obtained the ball inside the box, but instead of passing to unmarked Karabin attempted with a shot and Neshcheret parried.
Sych unleashed a strike after solo effort, but missed while the shot by Plumain was blocked. Dynamo didn’t aim to maintain possession and mostly focused on fast attacks upon dispossessing Rukh. Shortly before the break Buialskyi put a dangerous low cross into the box, but Lviv side defender cleared it.
The second half started with another chance for Dynamo. Diallo eluded his opponents, rushed into the penalty area and shot, but Ledvii parried.
Still in the 51st minute the White-Blues opened the score. Diallo headed the ball in after cross from the corner flag – 0:1. That’s his first goal for Dynamo!
This goal changed things for Rukh drastically as defeat wouldn’t let them secure the euro cups spot, so they rushed forward. Bilovar blocked the strike by Plumain, then Neshcheret easily coped with the attempt by Talles.
Yet eventually our keeper conceded. After cross from the corner Liakh got the ball, shot, Ruslan parried, but Didyk managed to send it into the net – 1:1.
Inspired by this goal Rukh continued attacking to grab the winner, but instead conceded in the 76th minute. Benito appeared in a promising position, fell, Dubinchak grabbed the ball, hit the post, but Tsarenko was there with a follow-up – 1:2.
Lviv side subbed all the attacking players they had in, but didn’t manage to cope with Dynamo defense again. Meanwhile Karavayev appeared one-on-one with the keeper, but didn’t score.
So, it’s 2:1 for Dynamo.
