FC Dynamo Kyiv hosted FC Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 11 game.
Both sides performed in euro cups earlier last week, but Shakhtar played their match one Tuesday while Dynamo – on Thursday. Thus Donetsk side had two days more to get ready for this game.
Maybe that is why Shakhtar were more active in terms of attacking actions early in the game. Zubkov was especially persistent and hit the crossbar in the 8th minute.
In the 16th minute the White-Blues suffered significant loss as Denys Popov got injured and was substituted.
23 minutes into the game Sikan attempted with a header after cross from the left wing, but missed just a bit. In a while Matviyenko tried from distance, but Bushchan was there.
Things got intense again as Bushchan didn’t reach the ball after corner, but Brazhko cleared it. Anyway, the first half was goalless.
But the first chance after the break became fatal for Dynamo. Eguinaldo attempted with a header after corner, Bushchan parried, but Bondarenko was the first one with the follow-up – 0:1.
In a few minutes home side could equalize. Dubinchak crossed into the penalty area accurately, Voloshyn avoided offside, but missed from close range.
Things were getting more and more emotional. Eventually in the 60th minute Kryskiv fouled roughly against Bilovar and was sent off.
Dynamo gaffer substituted supporting midfielder Andriyevskyi with forward Guerrero, but Shakhtar defended very orderly and didn’t give Kyivans any space for quite a while. Brazhko missed from distance while the strike from Voloshyn was parried by Riznyk.
In the 84th minute Karavayev replaced Tymchyk and this substitution became decisive. Three minutes later Dubinchak put a cross into Shakhtar penalty area, Karavayev rushed into space and scored – 1:1.
So, it’s a draw after which Dynamo remain at the top of the table having as many points as FC Oleksandria (26).
