FC Dynamo Kyiv hosted FC Obolon Kyiv in the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 25 game.
Visitors showed they wouldn’t just defend right off. Bychek attempted from outside the box early in the game. Neshcheret parried, but Illin was there. Fortunately, he missed from close range. Then Obolon had a nice attack down the center, Stasiuk aimed at the far corner, but the ball went wide.
Hrusha had a couple of chances, but at first missed the target with a curler and then Shaparenko blocked his shot.
Oleksandr Shovkovskyi’s men started pressing towards the end of the first half and succeed in the 39th minute. Buialskyi and Dubinchak played a free kick, the latter found Yarmolenko down the center and Andrii sent the ball into the corner spectacularly – 1:0! This was the 113th UPL goal for Andrii which means he’s reached the record of Serhii Rebrov.
Home side continued attacking after the break and eventually increased their lead. Vanat was fouled against inside the box, referee awarded penalty and Vladyslav converted from the spot – 2:0.
In the 67th minute the game was pretty much closed. Guerrero found Buialskyi, who received the ball inside the box and netted it – 3:0.
It is worth mentioning that even in such a development of events Obolon didn’t give up and continued to look a chance to score at least a consolation goal. In particular, in one of the episodes after Slobodian’s pass from the left flank, took a shot, but the White-Blues were saved by the post. In a stoppage time Neshcheret parried the header by Bliznichenko.
So, it’s three more points for Dynamo, The White-Blues will play their next game on Wednesday, April 23. Kyivans will face FC Bukovyna Chernivtsi in the Ukrainian Cup semifinal.
