Dynamo Kyiv played their fourth pre-season friendly in Austria against English side – West Bromwich Albion. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
West Brom started strongly, dominating possession early on, but Dynamo had the first real chance — Buialskii’s shot was blocked after a great pass from Torres. Supriaga and Kabaiev also came close, but the English defense held firm.
The first half was balanced, with both teams having spells of possession. Torres fired over from inside the box in one of the few notable chances before halftime. The score remained goalless at the break.
Early in the second half, Dynamo missed a big opportunity when Zadorozhnyi opted to pass instead of shooting, leading to an Buialski’s offside call. Just minutes later, West Brom capitalized on a set piece — Phillips headed in from close range in the 50th minute to make it 0-1.
In the 61st minute, Dynamo made wholesale changes and increased their attacking pressure. Vanat and Voloshyn had their efforts blocked or saved by goalkeeper, but white-blues finally found the equalizer in the 76th minute. Vivcharenko sent a long pass forward, and Vanat beat the defender to slot the ball past the keeper — 1:1.
The final minutes were relatively quiet, with both teams avoiding risks. Dynamo’s defense handled West Brom’s late set-piece threats well.
The next match Dynamo will play on July 16th against Croatian side NK Osijek.
