The first contest that took place in 1996 was won by FC Khimik Zhytomyr. Teams representing FC Dynamo Kyiv won the competition more often than anyone else – eight times!
Makarov tournament always discovers news stars of Ukrainian football, such as Andriy Yarmolenko, Artem Kravets, Denys Boiko, Roman Zozulia, Denys Harmash, Serhiy Rybalka, Vlad Kalytvyntsev and others. In 2002 Olexandr Shovkovskyi was the trophy holder.
In 2016 15 teams will take part in the tournament.
All Dynamo-2 matches will be played at the White-Blues training complex in Koncha-Zaspa at 12:00.
