With the club’s policy of introducing young prospects into the first XI, Artem Kravets got his first chance to feature in the UEFA Champions League against Sporting.
“I was called up by Oleh Luzhnyy to join the first team squad back in November of 2007. Alas, I was on a match ban in division 2 at that time and had to miss some domestic Cup and league encounters. I have never been a harsh player, which makes the whole thing even more a nuisance”, Artem was quoted by Ukrainian paper Komanda.
“Which players set an inspiring example for me? I can only talk about those playing over the last decade, those I personally have been watching: Shevchenko, Kalitvintsev, Belkevich, Bangoura, with Serhiy Rebrov crowning up the list”, told the forward the same source.
Does it feel comfortable amongst a plethora of experienced players? The answer is probably “yes”: “When Yuriy Semin named the squad for the match vs. Spartak Moscow, everyone came up to me and wished me all the best luck”.
