Dynamo Kyiv will be without defender Pape Diakhaté for at least four months after the 24-year-old player suffered a serious injury. The Senegal centre-back damaged his left knee during Dynamo’s friendly match against Russian side FC Rubin (Kuban) in Marbella, which ended in a 1-0 win for the Kyivers. Tomorrow Pape will depart for Belgium in order to undergo a medical examination. The procedure will help to determine the extent of the injury.
- Pape, you have suffered three serious injuries during one and a half years. What’s the reason of such bad luck?
- You are right. It’s just bad luck. Nevertheless, I believe in God and I am not afraid of anything. Everything happens for a reason and it does really make us stronger. Everybody at the club supports me and helps me a lot. I have ascertained once again that Dynamo Kyiv are a big friendly family. I feel so grateful to all the people who are not indifferent. I'd like to wish my team-mates good luck and I hope to visit Dynamo’s match against Valencia.
- Will your family arrive in Kiev to support you during rehabilitation?
- Yea, sure. My wife and children already live with me in Kyiv. My kids visit Russian-language school, and my wife attends the University. She knows Russian language very well and she even tries to teach me sometimes.
- Pape, we wish you a speedy recovery on behalf of all Dynamo supporters. It won’t be easy without you in the forthcoming matches…
- Thank you very much. I promise I’ll be back into action soon.
