Olexiy MYKHAILYCHENKO: “The first half was a failure”

- Of course it’s not the way I wanted my first match to be. First of all I’m disappointed with final score as it could be different. As for Dynamo performance, the first half was a failure. We didn’t demonstrate speed and dynamics we talked about. We had few chances before the break.

The second half was much more interesting. Even before the red card we switched on the pace. But then we conceded in a simple situation. I’d like to thank our player as they fought till the final whistle. Unfortunately we haven’t won.

- Why did Dynamo have so few chances before the break?

- The whole Olimpik lineup defended in the first half and we had to move faster to deal with that. That’s what we didn’t do. In the second half we increased our speed and things got better. Besides, individual skills are very important. That’s what we need to work on.

- When will Dynamo become a team performing decently in the Champions League?

- That’s a question for fortuneteller. There’s no doubt we did our best to win today. We aim to win the UPL and to perform in the Champions League. I’ll do what I can to make it possible.

- Could you please tell about lineup peculiarities? Kadiri took the field, Besedin wasn’t even on players’ list, Sol made a late substitute appearance.

- That’s the position we signed Kadiri for although he can be both a centre back and supporting midfielder. As for me, he did pretty well after such a long break. Still he can do better. He defended quite orderly, but he should work on attacking skills.

As for Besedin, he constantly works with us and he’ll definitely have chances to prove he deserves starting spot.

- What about Shaparenko? Do you count on him?

- We count on all players. There’s a competition in our team. Pivaric, Besedin, Tsytaishvili and Shaparenko weren’t on players’ list. This is football. One must fight to be the first team regular.
