Saturday’s UEFA Euro 2008 qualifier between Lithuania and Ukraine is as likely as not to become the last game for Dynamo goalie Oleksandr Shovkovskyy in the year 2007.
“I had my leg examined Sunday morning and now I have a splint on. The final diagnosis will be established after some extra scans that I am going to undergo today and tomorrow. So far we do not think the bone is broken. It might be a ligament”, told Oleksandr www.fcdynamo.kiev.ua
The footballer, now on crutches, sounded no happy when recalling the weekend’s game: “I was trying to parry the ball, but the field was slippery and I failed. I was racked with pain in my leg and understood I could not carry on with the game”.
