- It must be a pity that you didn’t go to Kyiv with the team to visit your family?
- My wife visited me these days in Spain. You know that frequent flights and rapid changes of temperature are harmful for my health.
- How do you feel in general?
- I feel great! I already miss my work. Every day doctors control my health conditions and I have no problems.
- Did the team fulfill the program of the first training camp?
- Yes, everything was okay. Of course there are always small problems but there’s nothing doing…
- The president of Dynamo Kyiv Ihor Surkis told that this training camp was the most difficult for the team in the last 5 years…
- We had two training sessions a day. Training camps are always difficult. I don’t know how the team used to get ready to the season with other coaches. I have such program.
- Do all footballers withstand such difficulties?
- We had no problems. At least I heard no claims.
- Do those footballers who played in the national team when you were their manager understand what to expect from you better than others? Do they understand that such work is necessary?
- Draining camps in the national team last for a couple of days. So there is nothing to compare. I see that the attitude of footballers to work is normal. They know that they need it. So everybody works.
- What about the video on which players of Dynamo Kyiv push-up for the lack of diligence?
- There is nothing special about that. Different situations occur during training sessions.
- Are the results of friendlies important for you?
- Absolutely not. These matches show us conditions of footballers. It’s a kind of training session with more responsibility.
- Some footballers played unconfidently in friendlies. Especially Domagoj Vida…
- What did you expect? The new player needs time to get used to the new team and coach, trainings sessions and tactics. It’s normal. He can adapt at once.
- Brown Ideye is absent so Artem Kravets, Admir Mehmedi and Roman Bezus tried to play on his position? What can you say about these experiments?
- We need one more striker.
- It was also informed that Dynamo Kyiv is looking for one more center back? Is it true?
- Yes, it is.
- Olexandr Shovkovskiy and Olexandr Aliyev were injured during the first training camp? In what conditions are they now?
- They had to pass medical examination in Kyiv. I don’t know about its results yet.
- Do you already see features of so called Dynamo football which is expected by fans?
- It’s impossible to make some rapid changes within one month of work. We are in the process of formation. And actually what do you mean by Dynamo football. There is no such concept. There is football which is changing rapidly! Good results and good football are the main aims of the team.
- How quickly do footballers understand your ideas?
- We’ve been working for 12 days only. So there is nothing to talk about yet. Players are getting used to me. They understand everything, believe me.
- The coach of FC Metalist Kharkiv Myron Markevych told that his team works mostly physically during training camps as their tactics will remain the same. The same situation is in FC Shakhtar Donetsk. But you must be working a lot at the team tactics?
- Of course we do. Markevych and Lucesku have been working in their teams for several years already. They have rather stable squads. But we are building the new team. Journalists wrote that Lucescu drives Lamborghini and Blokhin has to rake debris on the tractor. In some way it is true. The creation of the team needs time.
- Is this tractor accelerating?
- Yes, it does.
- Have you already analyzed FC des Girondins de Bordeaux?
- We are collecting information. Our representatives visited matches of this team. On the 9th of February Serhiy Rebrov will attend one more match. After that we’ll analyze this information.
- The new manager of Ukraine national team Mykhailo Fomenko visited you in Marbella. Did you have a talk with him?
- Yes, we did. We talked about the national team and about different players. It was just a talk of two specialists. He asked me about some footballers. We also talked about FC Dnipro, FC Shakhtar and FC Dynamo.
- Did you visit the friendly match of FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk because of curiosity?
- It was interesting and useful for my work. I wanted to see conditions of our opponents.
