FC Dynamo Kyiv halfback Mykola Shaparenko answered club media questions after Tuesday session at the training camp in Spain:
- How do you feel after first days of the training camp?
- Everything is fine, the weather is great for work. It’s always hard at first, but then you get used and regain fitness.
- Emil Caras said players are tired after three days of work in Kyiv. How do you feel?
- That’s true, there’s certain fatigue, as we switched soft artificial turf to frozen natural.
- You had interesting session at the gym today – with smiles, good music and jokes.
- There were a lot of smiles, but exercise load was really intense. That’s good for us.
- Which exercise did you like the most?
- I can say which one was the toughest – the one when we were supposed to push special “sledge” that weights 50 kg. Most of all I liked to work with the ball.
- How often do you do strength exercises?
- I Kyiv we worked out at the gym every day. It’s all up to the coach.
- Your muscle bulk has increased. Do you work on that?
- Every player works individually. Some grow muscles faster than others. I guess I’m the slower one (smiling).
- You have a lot of youngsters in the team. How did you welcome them?
- Of course we support them as everyone used to be in their shoes. The exercise load here is much more intense than in the U19 team. The first team is totally different level. That’s why we help them.
- Do you miss guys who haven’t come to the training camp?
- We miss Mykolenko, but we’re all happy for him as now he’ll perform in the English Premier League. We’re looking forward to the return of Karavayev, Zabarnyi, Shkurin and Ramirez.
