FC Dynamo Kyiv halfback Mykola Shaparenko has shared his expectations of the Champions League 3rd qualifying round first leg against Rangers FC.
- We expect a tough game. We’ve watched their games. They play athletic football and have really fast counterattacks. Coaches pointed that out, now it’s all in our hands.
- What do you know about rangers? Who’s the much-fancied side in this tie?
- England and Scotland are more or less on the same football level. We must be ready to fight for the ball against Rangers and of course play the way we want to. We must focus on our performance and motivation. We’ll aim only at victory.
- You played at this stadium in the World Cup playoff and succeeded. What do you expect of tomorrow’s game?
- I remember that game, we won it. It was a tough one, but that’s history already. Tomorrow we’ll have a totally different game. I hope we demonstrate our best qualities.
When we hosted Partizan here, the atmosphere was great. Fans inspired us with their support. We’re far from home, but we were feeling like on the home ground. I hope a lot of people will come to support us tomorrow as well. We play for our fans and give back the energy we receive from them.
