After 2:1 away win, even the draw was a satisfactory outcome for Mircea Lucescu’s men, but before the game our coach said that the team must forget about the first leg.
Comparing with the match in Belgium, there wasn’t a single substitution in the White-Blues starting lineup.
Kyivans opened the score 9 minutes into the game. Supriaha put a low cross to Buialskyi and Vitaliy sent the ball into the net with a backheel – 1:0.
Shaparenko could increase the lead, but was unlucky to hit the post from outside the box. Visitors could equalize right away. After mistake by Zabarnyi, Bukari attempted from inside the penalty area, but Bushchan saved Dynamo.
The match was pretty intense as visitors needed to score at least two. Niangbo tried to equalize, but the ball went wide after rebound.
In the 35th minute Dynamo increased the lead. Plastun handled the ball trying to clear it with a header and referee awarded penalty for Kyivans. De Pena converted from the spot – 2:0.
In several minutes referee awarded another penalty – for the foul against Supriaha, but cancelled his decision having checked VAR. Vladyslav was offside.
Visitors didn’t give up although they needed to score three. Niangbo had a decent attempt, but Bushchan parried his strike. Anyway, right after the break the White-Blues made it 3:0. Fortuna fouled against Supriaha inside the box and referee awarded another penalty. Rodrigues didn’t miss.
After that Mircea Lucescu’s men relaxed and Gent had several great opportunities, but this evening Bushchan was a real wall and didn’t let visitors hit the target.
So, Dynamo win 3:0 (5:1 on aggregate) and qualify for the Champions League group stage for the first time in four years.
