FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi answered media questions after the Europa League main stage matchday 1 game against SS Lazio (0:3).
- What was the decisive aspect today?
- Of course it’s upsetting to lose, especially by such a margin. Opponents don’t forgive mistakes on this level. We gave two goals away that were scored through the center. That’s unacceptable.
- After the first half that attacks ratio was 31:10 for Dynamo, but Lazio turned three of those into goals. Dynamo unleashed four shots. Why did you lack attacking effectiveness?
- We took the field to play football. We could defend and wait, but I want to give the team a chance to play football, create combinations, finish those. We had chances, but we conceded due to defensive mistakes. I guess it’s about Lazio class. What then have chances like that, they use those.
- Dynamo conceded early opener, then Ceballos got injured. How much did that impact the game for you?
- I can’t say the injury of Ceballos had crucial impact. As I’ve said, we made serious defensive mistakes. I don’t want to name particular players, but we have no right to let opponents get through the center and score so easily.
