On Thursday, October 24, FC Dynamo Kyiv played the Europa League matchday 3 game – against AS Roma away.
As you know, in the matchday 1 game Oleksandr Shovkovskyi’s men suffered 0:3 defeat against Lazio after which lost 0:2 against Hoffenheim.
Early in the game the teams fought for possession. Home side tried to create some danger, but Dynamo defenders were coping with that.
Halfway through the first half Roma won a penalty as Mykhavko fouled against Baldanzi inside the box. Dovbyk converted from the spot – 1:0.
Dynamo responded with the shot from Guerrero – over the bat. Tymchyk was probably the closest to success as he received the ball from Guerrero and missed the far corner just a bit.
Guerrero attempted decently from inside the penalty area, but goalkeeper parried. Late in the first half Dynamo netted the ball, but Voloshyn was flagged offside.
Early in the second half neither side created actual danger. The gaffers made a number of substitutions to freshen things up.
Mykhavko and Mykhailenko attempted to head the ball in after corner, but neither of them succeeded. Shomurodov could increase Roma lead at least twice, but was inaccurate.
So, it’s 0:1 – Dynamo suffer the third Europa League defeat in a row.
