On October 20, FC Dynamo Kyiv faced FC Barcelona away within the Champions League group stage matchday 3. The game took place at the Camp Nou.
The match was exciting, with a lot of scoring opportunities. Still only one goal was scored. Although Barcelona aren’t doing good in the La Liga and Champions League, Ronald Koeman’s men looked really well in this match.
Dynamo gaffer applied significant lineup rotation comparing with the game against Bayern Munich. Kyivans played defensively. They tried to counterattack, but their shots were mostly blocked. Luuk de Jong had a good chance halfway through the first half, but Bushchan parried his strike. Later Heorhiy coped with the shot by Dest from close range.
In the 36th minute, when it seemed the White-Blues cleared the ball after corner, Alba put a cross into the penalty area and Pique hit the target from six-yard box line – 1:0.
After the break the game didn’t change a lot. Barcelona were mostly in possession while Dynamo were keeping the lower profile. Fati unleashed a spectacular bicycle kick, but missed. Visitors attempted after crosses from free kicks, but home side defense coped with their efforts.
Coutinho missed with a header after corner. Generally Barcelona controlled the game, but didn’t create a lot of real opportunities. So, it’s 1:0.
