This day is both festal and sad for Dynamo. 94 years ago, in 1927, Dynamo team was founded while on May 13 2002 our outstanding coach Valeriy Lobanovskyi passed away.
Ternopil citizens were really looking forward to this game as their city hadn’t hosted matches of such level before. Unfortunately only 20% of ticket could be sold due to quarantine restrictions.
Kyivans tried to take the game under control at once and Zoria were okay with that.
In the 10th minute unfortunate accident happened to Mykolenko. Opponent stepped on is hand when he fell on the ground. Doctors had to help Vitaliy leave the field. Karavayev took his place of the left back.
Buialskyi had a good chance to open the score after pass from Besedin, but sent the ball over the bar. In another episode Kedziora rushed into the box from the right side and put a low cross which was blocked. Besedin attempted from the penalty area line, but goalkeeper parried his shot.
Luhansk side also had scoring opportunities. Favorov attempted with a header after cross from the left side and later Yurchenko sent the ball wide from outside the box.
The second half also started with Dynamo attacks. Shaparenko could score a fabulous goal. He entered the penalty area and tried to send it in, but hit the bar. Goalkeeper saved the shot by Sydorchuk and parried decent strike by Tsyhankov. And then Besedin managed to miss the target somehow from 11-meter-distance.
Time was running out and Dynamo were in a hurry to score. Goalkeeper Vasilj was doing a really good job. For example, he parried the header by Besedin.
90 minutes ended in a goalless draw, but soon after the extra time started Dynamo scored. Rodrigues rushed into the penalty area, put a low cross and Tsyhankov was there to make it 1:0.
Later Viktor had another great chance. Referee awarded penalty for the foul against Buialskyi, but Vasilj parried the shot by Tsyhankov.
Still it’s 1:0 for Dynamo. This win has handed the White-Blues their 13th Ukrainian Cup trophy. This means that this season Kyivans have won the “golden hat trick” – UPL, national cup and Super Cup!
