- We’ve taken the title back to Kyiv. That wasn’t easy. I’d like to thank the club employees, who were doing their best despite the tough pandemic the whole world has faced. Almost all our players have had the virus. I’m thankful to our doctors and training camp staff. But first of all I’d like to thank Mister, who’s managed to create a decent team within such short period of time. Only a blind man can’t see the team has reached new level.
When appointing Mister to the post of the head coach, I was taking a risk. But it was a right decision. I’m very thankful to Mister. I hope he’ll be working on this level for many more years.
- Will the team toss you today?
- I’m covered with champagne, so they’d better toss me after the Cup final victory (smiling). They understand they’ve reached new level, but now they need to move on.
- Will Mircea Lucescu stay in Dynamo next season?
- I’m sure he will as his contract is still valid. I have no doubts. He created this team. I think it’s time to aim for something in Europe.
- Have Dynamo youngsters already reached certain level?
- They already play on top level. We opposed such teams as Barcelona and Juventus, they feature for the national team and gain experience. Everyone has stuff to work on, but if you make headway without achieving certain results, this progress is meaningless.
When Mister took charge of the team, we had eight healthy players. I offered him some enforcement, but he said he would give these performers a chance. This wasn’t my decision. Mister wanted to work with these guys. I think each of them should thank the coach.
- Dynamo have already qualified for the Champions League group stage. Do you plan any enforcement now?
- If there’s a better player than those we have, of course we’ll attempt to sign him, but you’d better ask head coach about that. My task is to sign players he wants.
