UPL. Matchday 9. Dynamo – Shakhtar – 0:3. Report

Both sides approached this game after defeats in the Champions League. Dynamo delivered a decent battle to FC Barcelona away (1:2) while Shakhtar were flattened by Borussia Mönchengladbach (0:6).

Mircea Lucescu couldn’t count on 15 (!) first team players in the game against Shakhtar due to injuries and COVID-19.

Shakhtar started the match more aggressively while Dynamo defended quite orderly. As it often happens in such games, individual mistakes turned out to be decisive. Unfortunately Kyivan’s 18-year-old keeper made one. After cross from the right side he missed the ball and Moraes headed the ball in – 0:1.

Buialskyi had a chance to equalize, but his shot wasn’t a success. Dynamo aimed to score, but right before the break our skipper Sydorchuk committed a rough foul against Korniyenko and was sent off.

In the second half Shakhtar were mostly in possession. Eventually Stepanenko attempted from distance and the ball hit the target after rebound from Marcos Antonio – 0:2

Later Rodrigues got injured and was substituted by Rusyn. Soon visitors made it 3:0. Alan Patrick hit the upper corner from outside the box.

After that the game was actually over. Both sides were just waiting for the final whistle.
